Score 91/100 · Drink 2021-2031, Neal Martin, Sep 2020

The 2018 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru comes from the domaine’s 3.2ha of 55-year-old vines, aged in tank on the fine lees for 18–20 months. It has an attractive beeswax, grapefruit and white peach bouquet that takes time to unfurl. The palate is well balanced, with a fine bead of acidity, bitter lemon mixing with orange peel and spicy notes toward the finish. It does not quite have the harmony of the Vaudésir, but it should give 10–12 years of drinking pleasure.

Creamy richness of apple, with plenty of extract and a stony rather than steely undertow. Good length. (TJ)
