Tasting notes
Blackcurrants, bark, smoke, cedar, and mushroom aromas that follow through to a medium body with fine, round tannins and a suppleness. Finesse at the end. Some tobacco. Anise. Clove. Drink or hold.

From a four-acre section planted in 1995 and 2002, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Hayne Vineyard features aromas of red cherries and redcurrants despite being matured in 50% new French oak. It's medium to full-bodied on the palate, silky and elegant, with a long, finely dusty finish that reminds me of u-pick strawberries on a dry June day. (JC)
More chocolate, tar, dried tobacco, and earthy notes emerge from the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon C.C. Ranch, a medium to full-bodied, nicely textured, savory Rutherford Cabernet. I love its tannins, it has a balanced, seamless mouthfeel, terrific length, and is a classic 2017 to enjoy over the coming 15+ years.
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon C.C. Ranch is a classic Rutherford Cabernet with knock-out aromatics, deep fruit and fabulous balance. Cedar, tobacco, menthol, red cherry, chocolate and espresso are all finely knit in a wine that balances elegance with power to grand effect. Even with all of its intensity, the 2017 remains vibrant, fresh and full of energy.
