Score 98/100 · Drink 2027-2048, Jeb Dunnuck, Dec 2025

Based on 74% Cabernet Sauvignon and 26% Petit Verdot and aged 22 months in 100% new French oak, the 2023 Blueline Estate 36 is absolutely gorgeous. Crème de cassis, graphite, leafy tobacco, violets, and a Haut-Brion scorched earth-like character all emerge from this full-bodied beauty. It has a deep, layered, seamless mouthfeel, polished tannins, and a great finish. It really is a dead ringer for a young, great Haut-Brion, and while it's lovable today, it will benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and see its 25th birthday in fine form. Drink 2027-2048.

The 2023 Blueline Estate 36 is a co-fermented blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon and 39% Petit Verdot. Last year, it was a huge wine, but the 36 has developed into a model of finesse. Deeply aromatic and savory, the 2023 presents notes of dark red fruits, iron, incense and white pepper. A good blast of tannin rounds out the finish. This gets better and better with time in the glass.

The 2023 Blueline Estate 36 is two-thirds Cabernet Sauvignon and one-third Petit Verdot. To be more precise (or less, depending on how you view it), it includes a 50-50 co-ferment of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, plus a couple of barrels of pure Cabernet Sauvignon. Intricate floral scents accent black cherries on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is creamy, supple and expansive, then shows more structure and firmness on the finish. It's a standout effort that should possess ample longevity.

The 2023 Blueline Estate 36 is packed with inky dark fruit, chocolate, graphite, incense and pressed flowers, all amplified to the maximum. The blend is 61% Cabernet Sauvignon and 39% Petit Verdot, co-fermented. Dense and powerful, with equally huge tannins, the 2023 is superb.
