Cru bourgeois. 70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, on clay-limestone. Yield 28 hl/ha. Aged in used 300-litre oak barrels and in stoneware amphorae for one year. Mid crimson. A rather dull colour. Light nose. Very juicy with the tannins almost imperceptible until the (bone-dry) end. (JR)

Extremely concentrated and knitted down, there is real potential for pleasure on the attack, with bright raspberry and blueberry fruits but the tannins are burly and the finish shows some heat. 20% new oak, 300l barrels, plus amphoras. Family estate in Vertheuil, run by Nadine and Eric Charlassier, Merlot dominant on clay-limestone soils, 28hl/h yield.
