2011 TOR Rock Grenache Cuvée Cooper Alban Clone

(with 4% syrah; mostly made from limestone-rich soil on the western side of Paso Robles): Dullish medium red. Liqueur-like kirsch and a slightly tired nutty note on the nose. Very smooth and high in alcohol but with rather strong acidity (the wine has a low pH) suppressing its fruit today. Perfumed but in the way of a dry port. Finishes with substantial drying tannins. I wanted more freshness and lift.
