Tasting notes
Bright ruby. Vibrant redcurrant and floral aromas, with notes of allspice and minerals coming up with air. Juicy and precise on the palate, offering tangy red fruit flavors and a touch of bitter chocolate. Closes with very good clarity, cut and persistence, leaving spicecake and zesty red berry notes behind. (JR)

The 2009 Pinot Noir Rochioli Vineyard shows good mid-palate pliancy and depth along with a supple personality best suited for drinking over the next handful of years. Sweet red cherries, flowers and spices flow through to the long finish in this fairly restrained medium-bodied Pinot. I think it is reasonable to expect more of a wine made from Rochioli fruit, especially considering it is frankly a privilege to be able to source this quality of fruit in the first place. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015. Tel. (707) 433-6616
