2024 Epoch White

Based on 56% Grenache Blanc, 35% Viognier, and 9% Roussanne, the 2024 White reveals bright citrus, tangerine, honeyed flowers, and chalky minerality. It's medium-bodied, fresh, and focused on the palate, with vibrant acidity and fabulous purity. Aged in a mix of concrete and French oak foudre and barrels, this elegant white is best enjoyed over the coming 2-3 years. Drink 2025-2028. Winemaker Jordan Fiorentini continues to keep Epoch Estate at the top of the hierarchy in Paso Robles. She makes a bevy of wines, all of which are from their estate Paderewski, Catapult, and York Mountain vineyards. While the 2022s clearly rank with the top wines of the vintage, I think her 2023s might be even better. Readers can’t go wrong with any of these, and Jordan’s wines always shine for their purity, vibrancy, and balance while staying true to Paso Robles with ripe, sexy levels of fruit.

The 2024 White is wickedly fresh, wafting up with a bouquet of freshly sliced peach, orange shavings and mint. The palate is soothingly round, with pronounced minerality and a wave of ripe pit fruits elevated by brisk acidity. A pleasantly chewy sensation lingers through the tension-filled finale as nuances of apricot fade. Incredibly enjoyable today, the 2024 White also has the complexity to mature over the medium term.
