Light raspberry red. Slightly sweaty/ashy nose. Light and green fruited. A bit demanding. Rather than pure pleasure. (JR)

The 2017 Bourgogne Rouge has quite a generous raspberry preserve and strawberry scented bouquet. The palate has light dark plummy fruit, a crisp line of acidity with just a dab of spice towards the finish. Enjoy over the next three or four years.

Due to be bottled the week after I tasted it, the 2017 Bourgogne offers up pretty aromas of flowers, ripe berries and sweet soil. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, satiny and charming, with more flesh on its structural bones than when I tasted it in the spring. It will be irresistible in its youth.
