AP number 141 24. Intense aroma that is both lightly fumy/herbal and spicy/mineral, even if the overriding impression is pure grapefruit. Intense, salty/sour intensity on the palate. Long, salty finish, almost bitter but in a good way. Elegant and long. (JH)

Oh the stony smoke! Aromas as shifting and fragile as a dune-scape. Sweeping white fruit, lemon balm and pink grapefruit; salty, stony. A taut anchor line of acidity winds its way through complex Riesling depths. Elegant phenolics. Equal parts challenge and class, with maybe just a hint of danger. A spray of sea salt lingers on the endless finish. (PS)
The 2023 Riesling Ayler Lambertskirch Grosses Gewächs allows ripe, juicy peach and tangerine to shine through the slight reduction on the nose. Yeast and texture define the palate, edging the stony dryness with a pithy mouthfeel. A lovely tone of citric bitterness combines with slate and vivid, zesty juiciness, making for a long, mouthwatering finish. This is a picture of balance and serenity.
