Tasting notes
A big, powerful wine based on 100% Cabernet Franc, the 2022 Cabernet Franc Agnes Sorel offers up loads of black fruits, scorched earth, graphite, chocolate, and crushed stone. Inky and rich on the palate, with mineral-laced nuances and a roasted, licorice character, this no-sulfur-added effort will drink nicely over the coming 7-8 years.

Pott's 2022 Agnes Sorel is 100% Cabernet Franc from the estate vineyard on Mount Veeder. Hand-plunged in open-top oak fermenters, aged in a 50-50 mix of clay and oak and made without any sulfur additions, it's turned out just as good as I hoped, based on last year's sample. Hints of dark, leafy tobacco join blackberries and black cherries, adding a bit of sage as well. In the mouth, it's medium to full-bodied, richly concentrated and velvety textured, with a lingering finish. This is a real beauty.
The 2022 Agnes Sorel is 100% Cabernet Franc done in amphora with no SO2. I am sure this will have its fans. I would prefer to taste varietal and site character as opposed to winemaking and stylistic decisions. In this vintage, Agnes Sorel is not as captivating as it can be.
