Tasting notes
The 2015 Chardonnay Mt. Carmel Vineyard is powerful and intense, yet retains tremendous freshness. Nuanced and creamy on the palate, it is full of personality. Flowers, lemon peel and white pepper add to the wine's chiseled, finely cut personality. Following my last tasting of the 2015, winemaker Matt Dees gave the Chardonnay six months in tank, which really perked up the flavors.

The 2015 Chardonnay Mt Carmel Vineyard has a nose of toasted almonds and allspice with a core of ripe pears, peach kernels and applesauce. Medium-bodied with a good intensity of citrus and stone fruit flavors, it has a racy acid line and mineral-laced finish.
The 2015 Chardonnay Mount Carmel Vineyard is a racy, vibrant white that stays nicely balanced on the palate. Citrus blossom, lime and hints of spring flowers all emerge from this interesting white that again, is going to appeal to the acid lovers out there.
The 2015 Chardonnay Mt. Carmel Vineyard is dense, powerful and creamy, with veins of chalky, saline notes that underpin the fruit beautifully. Candied lemon, chalk, white pepper and dried pear are some of the signatures. This is one of the more savory, phenolic Chardonnays of the Sta. Rita Hills. Today, it is full of promise.
