Quite wild nose and a little light but there is lots of local interest here. Very intense actually – it really grows on the palate in the most exciting way. Read this tasting note as a stream of consciousness! VGV (JR)

The 2017 Marsannay Le Chapitre Vieilles Vignes comes from vines planted in 1947. It has quite an intense bouquet of well-defined blackberry, briar and raspberry preserve aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine definition, gentle grip and a tightly wound finish that just needs to develop more flesh. I will remain conservative in my score for now.
