Tasting notes
Full bottle 1,442 g. Ambient-yeast fermentation. 100% destemmed. Matured 11 months in 45% new French oak, remainder neutral. Pale verging on medium ruby. Densely fruited, cedary, sweet oak-laden nose with an undertone of savoury earth. The earth comes through more on the palate and balances the rich dark-cherry fruit and fresh acidity. Certainly New World (and glossy) but not without beguiling Pinot Noir earthiness. (SCJ)

A gorgeous, Côtes de Nuits-like nose of darker cherries, leafy herbs, underbrush, and forest floor emerges from the 2023 Pinot Noir Soberanes Vineyard. Medium-bodied and focused, with ripe tannins, it displays an elegant, beautifully balanced, seamless, and layered profile. This stunning Pinot Noir will drink beautifully over the coming 10-12 years.
The 2023 Pinot Noir Soberanes Vineyard wears its 30% whole clusters to great effect. A sweet core of blueberry fruit, grilled rosemary, tobacco, rose stem and black pepper intensifies with air. This is a voluptuous, seamless wine with understated power. Soberanes’ hallmark rocky minerality emerges on the finish. Excellent.
