Score 96/100 · Drink 1992-2004, Robert Parker, Oct 1992
The Charmes-Chambertin is so concentrated, voluptuous, and chewy that the overall impression is one of layer upon layer of sweet, jammy Pinot fruit crammed into a wine that fills and coats the mouth with such purity and intensity it has to be tasted to be believed. An oenologist might quibble over the low acid, as well as the element of sur-maturite in the wine, but, wow, what extraordinary flavor dimension and richness this wine possesses. Approachable now, it should drink well for the next 10-12 years . Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC.
