Tasting notes
Another outstanding wine in the lineup from this terrific producer, the 2022 Domaine Virginie Thunevin has lots of juicy black cherry and blackberry fruit as well as some leafy herb and chocolate notes. It's medium to full-bodied and has a round, layered, concentrated mouthfeel, sweet tannins, and a great finish. Drink this brilliant value over the coming 5-7 years or so.

The 2022 Domaine Virginie Thunevin has a decadent and alcoholic bouquet (15.5%) with smudged edges and licorice-infused black fruit tones. The palate is powerful and rich, a blockbuster Right Bank wine that lacks subtlety, but that's not its raison d'être . It's not my style, but I can imagine this going down well at a barbecue!
Rich damson and black cherry fruits, sappy lift on the finish, saline and juicy, this is an excellent example of a wine that is overperforming in 2022, where you get a ton of intensity for your money.
