Tasting notes
La Morra. Tasted blind. Mid ruby with bright, bricky rim. Really closed on the nose with hints of sweet cherry. Succulent palate that is still a little closed. Slightly astringent tannins yet displaying real fruit complexity on the finish. (WS)

Macerated cherry, hard candy, mint, spice, new leather and licorice give the 2014 Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata a darker profile than the straight Barolo. In 2014, the Rocche was aged in a new 25HL Garbellotto cask, which along with the naturally slender personality of the year, leaves the Rocche with a slightly more constricted feel in both its aromatics and tannin profile compared with the straight Barolo. Time in the glass does wonders for the 2014. I can't wait to see how it ages.
