2017 Doctors Flat Vineyards Pinot Noir

Offering a lick of sweet cherry fruit, chai and the high notes of anise and wormwood, there's no doubting the aromatic sensuousness of this wine. While medium-bodied at most, it provides good density of sweet, ripe fruit. It is the tannins – abundant and chalky yet sappy – that give this wine its pull and purpose. It's a wine that makes you say “mwah” on the savory finish, such is its texture and sinew. A no-messing kind of Pinot, which suits me just fine.
