(includes 10% viognier): Saturated ruby. Sexy aromas of oak-spiced red and dark berry preserves and anise, with a smoky topnote. Bright and precise on entry, then fuller in the middle, offering intense black raspberry and cherry-vanilla flavors and a touch of cracked pepper. Shows very good intensity on the finish, where the peppery note repeats.

Bright purple. Dark berry and cherry aromas, with hints of licorice and black pepper. Deeply pitched blackcurrant and cherry compote flavors show a serious, smoky quality and are lifted by tangy acidity. Dense but not at all heavy, with good finishing clarity and spicy cut. There's 10% viognier in this blend.
