Light nose and a little richer than some Chablis. Fully evolved already, sort of middle aged. Perfectly respectable but I'm (meanly) seeking a little more differentiation from Côte d'Or white burgundy. (JR)

The 2015 Chablis Valmur Grand Cru has a backward but refined bouquet of apple blossom and light limestone aromas, creating an impression that is both elegant and understated. The palate is well balanced, with a fine bead of acidity, and much more classic in style than its peers. The linear, lightly spiced, quite persistent finish feels edgy and saline. Excellent. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
