Score 93/100 · Drink 2009-2024, Robert Parker, Feb 2009
The impeccably pure, rich, complex, full-bodied 2006 La Reserve is a deeper, fuller effort revealing an opaque purple color, superb concentration, a multidimensional, textured mouthfeel, and an impressive finish. Black fruits, graphite, and a hint of toasty oak dominate this wine’s impressive character. It should drink well for 15+ years. Owned by a Chinese national from Hong Kong, this under-the-radar estate is turning out some very good wines, including their top cuvee (a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc), La Reserve, a superb offering from the sandy/gravelly soils of this terroir.
