Score 94/100 · Drink 2003-2010, Pierre Rovani, Feb 1998
The Batard-Montrachet possesses fabulously intense anise and honeysuckle aromas as well as an expansive, full-bodied, and elegant character. Layers of minerals, white peaches, buttered toast, and sweet pears are found in this lively, highly focused, and superbly persistent wine. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2010. All of Drouhin's whites, with the sole exception of the Montrachet, were bottled between early September and the end of October, 1997. Importer: Dreyfus Ashby, New York, NY; tel (212) 818-0770.
