Tasting notes
Petite Sirah lovers will go ballistic when they taste the two 1993 offerings from Turley Cellars. The black/purple-colored 1993 Petite Syrah Aida Vineyard (from a vineyard planted in 1911) is massively rich, with wonderfully integrated, sweet, ripe tannin, a huge, black fruit, licorice, earth, and peppery-scented nose, exceptional length, and moderately high, sweet tannin. It is an exceptional Petite Sirah that should last for 20-30+ years. These are extraordinary wines! If you want a crack at obtaining some of these beauties, get on the winery's mailing list by calling (707) 963-0940, or writing to Turley Wine Cellars, 3358 St. Helena Highway, St. Helena, CA 94574.
