(12.8% alcohol; aged in one-third new oak, all medium-plus Tronçais from François Frères; 3.58 pH): Hazy red-amber. Highly perfumed aromas of cherry, raspberry, strawberry and flowers, plus hints of smoky oak, marmite and earth. Shows some maderization notes but also surprising vibrancy and intensity, not to mention good fruit retention. A citrus note adds lift to the palate. Still juicy, but drink up.
