Score 89/100 · Drink 1997-2013, Robert Parker, Feb 1995
Stagland's 1992 Cabernet Sauvignon is at least excellent, possibly outstanding. This dark ruby/purple-colored, medium-bodied, finesse-styled Cabernet appears reticent and extremely tight and backward, but with airing it reveals a subtle yet attractive nose of cedar, spice, herbs, and cassis, excellent richness, an impressive sense of balance, and a beautifully knit, stylish finish. In a blind tasting, I would easily mistake it for a Left Bank Bordeaux. Give it 2-3 more years of cellaring and drink it over the subsequent 12-15. Tel. (707) 963-1749.
