The 2014 Chardonnay Vintner’s Select is fermented and aged nine months in 20% new French oak and goes through partial malolactic to retain a healthy amount of good acidity. Honeyed pears, caramelized citrus, apple blossom and white peach notes jump from the glass of this wine, which is medium to full-bodied and beautifully creafted. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.

A deep, intense Chardonnay, the 2014 Vintner Select has a feel of real phenolic intensity. Lemon peel, white pepper, mint and spice notes are all nicely delineated here. Veins of mountain acidity and salinity give the wines an extra kick of brightness and overall intensity that is so distinctive. There is a vertical sense of energy in the 2014 that I find especially of interest.
