Score 90/100 · Drink 2014-2024, Robert Parker, Oct 2014

The dark ruby-colored 2012 Pinot Noir Brown Ranch is the most structured and masculine of this 2012 quartet, displaying a formidable level of concentration, attractive notes of rose petals, blackcurrants and black cherries, good spice and a medium-bodied mouthfeel. This impressive Pinot should drink well for a decade or more.

Good full medium red. Deep, rich nose offers scents of plum, cherry, raspberry, mocha, cinnamon and underbrush. Rich, tactile and mouthfilling without coming across as heavy, thanks to lovely spicy lift to the fine-grained raspberry and menthol flavors. This lush pinot spreads out nicely on the back end, finishing with dusty tannins and very good energy. But still quite reserved.
