Score 90/100 · Drink 2015-2019, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Oct 2015

The 2013 Petite Syrah Palisades Vineyard is so primary it almost tastes like a barrel sample. Inky blue and purplish fruit, spices, new leather and menthol are some of the signatures. Voluptuous and racy, the 2013 will drink well young, although it will be even better once some of the baby fat melts away. If I had to make a list of 'grand cru' sites for Petite in Napa Valley, Palisades would be on it. In the past, this site has produced Petite of real pedigree and class. I imagine that will be the same here in time.
