Score 93/100 · Drink 2023-2030, Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, May 2023
Chase's 2019 Zinfandel Hayne Vineyard is made using fruit from a mix of older and younger vines. One of Napa's most heralded sources for Zinfandel, it offers up copious portions of fresh boysenberries and mixed raspberries framed by hints of dark chocolate and caramel. It's full-bodied but surprisingly bright and zesty, with a slightly creamy feel on the mid-palate, offset by silky tannins and a crisp, lively finish. Labeled at 15.6% alcohol, it doesn't come across as overtly warm.
