Score 95/100 · Drink 2005-2025, Robert Parker, Dec 2000

A prodigious wine is the 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon Bancroft Ranch. Opaque purple-colored, with an extroverted, floral, blueberry, mineral, and black currant-scented bouquet, this formidably endowed Cabernet possesses dazzling concentration, explosive richness that stains the palate, and finishes with sensational extract and balance. The tannin is high, but sweet and well-integrated. This large-scaled, muscular, mountain Cabernet Sauvignon will require 3-5 years of patience. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2025.
