Deep medium red. Medicinal cast to the black cherry and redcurrant aromas. Less sweet and more sturdy than the Combe d'Orveau, with the medicinal black cherry flavor dominating. Less detailed today but still quite fresh for the year. The wine's firm tannic spine will require patience.

Red-ruby. Brooding aromas of smoky dark berries, licorice, menthol and leather. Suave and seamless but youthfully imploded; with a medicinal cast to its dark fruit flavors. Much more backward than the Beaux-Monts. Finishes with excellent building sweetness along with classical firm Nuits-Saint-Georges tannins.
