Tasting notes
A barrel-fermented luxury cuvée, there are just 108 cases of the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon LXXIII. Aged exclusively in new French oak, it offers up scents of mint, rosemary, cassis, blueberries and black cherries. Of course, there's some cedar and vanilla as well, but they're in the background. This wine is full-bodied, broad and intense, with ample concentration, a rich, creamy mouthfeel and a long finish that echoes with hints of licorice, dark berries and allspice. Bravo.

The flagship from Conn Creek is the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon LXXIII. Its dense purple color is followed by a beautiful array of cassis, candied violets, spicy oak, chocolate, and hints of tobacco/cigar-like aromas and flavors. With full-bodied richness, good acidity and purity, and ripe tannins, this should benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age and have 15-20 years of overall longevity.
Lots of wood on the nose, together with jammy baked blackberries, black-bean sauce and cassis. Rich and full-bodied with chewy tannins and a slightly sour finish. Lacks real intensity. Drink now.
