Score 91/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
Bright, deep ruby. Subdued, pure, Medoc-like aromas of blackcurrant, shoe polish and mocha. Rather medicinal and muscular, with strong acidity and a slightly green flavor contributing to the impression of powerful structure. But there also strong material here, and the firm tannins and finishing flavors really spread over the palate and stay a while.
