Saturated violet. Highly perfumed aromas of fresh dark fruits, potpourri, olive paste and incense are complemented by exotic spice, violet and smoky mineral nuances. Sweet, seamless and expansive on the palate, offering lush blackberry, kirsch and fruitcake flavors supported by an undercurrent of juicy acidity. Finishes smooth and impressively long, showing superb clarity and pliant tannins that blend smoothly into the intense, floral-tinged fruit.

The 2019 Hommage à nos Pairs Reserve is a finished barrel sample of co-fermented Grenache and Viognier, due to be bottled in August 2021. Deep ruby-purple, it is scented of cassis and blueberries with accents of tar, violets, turned earth and coffee beans. The palate is full-bodied but manages loads of freshness and lift, with intense, perfumed fruits and an uplifted finish.
Not yet bottled, the 2019 Hommage A Nos Pairs has ample bright blue fruits as well as peppery, bay leaf, and bouquet garni-like nuances. With wonderful purity of fruit, medium to full body, and ripe yet building tannins, it’s certainly an outstanding, impressive wine in the making. The blend is 96% Syrah and 2% each of Viognier and Grenache.
