Here's a new submission from Ceretto. The organic 2018 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione has a sweet spot with bright cherry and dried cranberry. The rest of the bouquet is framed by licorice, wildflower and grilled herb. It shows more power on the palate with firm tannins over a mid-weight but long-lasting mouthfeel.

A new wine in this range, the 2018 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione emerges from a parcel that went into the straight Barolo for decades. It shows terrific brightness and verve, in the ethereal, light-bodied style of the vintage. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, white pepper and rose petal add lovely brightness throughout. The aromatics alone are captivating, in a taut ethereal style.
