Score 89/100 · Drink 2023-2036, Neal Martin, Nov 2022

The 2018 Pommard Jarollières 1er Cru feels rather monolithic on the nose: broody black fruit, touches of tea leaf, but it is missing some brightness. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly coarse tannins, sour cherry mixed with bay leaf and white pepper, almost Rhône-like towards the finish. A bit feral, yet it conveys a modicum of charm. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting.
