Tasting notes
The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon is a very pretty wine. Aromatic, savory and light on its feet, the Cabernet Sauvignon is a relatively mid-weight, understated wine for Pride. Crushed rose petal, sage, mint and blood orange lend notable lift and brightness throughout. This is a distinctly red-fruited Cabernet. Give it a year or two for the tannins to soften.

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon comes mostly from Sonoma County yet includes 36% of Napa fruit. Darker currants, leafy herbs, underbrush, and a kiss of menthol all define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied, with a nicely balanced, charming mouthfeel and reasonable length. It's well made and might pick up some depth and length with 2-3 years in the cellar. Drink 2025-2037.
Pride's 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon is predominantly from the Sonoma side of the property (64%), with the balance coming from the Napa portion. A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc, it features scents of dried herbs, black olives and black cherries on the nose, while the medium- to full-bodied palate is plush and velvety. The mountain tannins are nicely managed, present but ripe and soft, lingering pleasantly on the finish.
Full bottle 1,356 g. 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc. Deep purple. Quiet nose. Nice weight to the palate with enough black fruit to balance the slightly drying tannin and elevated acidity. Very dry finish. (SCJ)
