Score 90/100 · Drink 2013-2023, Robert Parker, Jun 2013

The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is composed of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot aged 24 months in 100% new French oak. Like its sibling, it finished with 15.5% alcohol. More black olive and tapenade notes in addition to black cherries make the aromatics on this wine more complex than its more expensive sibling. It displays less oak as well as more nuances and terroir characteristics in its fleshy, medium to full-bodied, supple personality. The oak is better integrated in this generous, opulent 2003 than in its sibling. Drink it over the next decade. Tel. (707) 963-3600
