Tasting notes
Produced from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Armstrong Ranch has a deep garnet-purple color, leaping from the glass with profound scents of wild blueberries, black raspberries, ripe blackcurrants and crushed rocks, with hints of violets, spice box and dusty soil. The medium to full-bodied palate has a firm, grainy texture and a lively backbone beautifully supporting the taut, muscular black and red fruit, finishing long and perfumed. Stunning! 190 cases were made.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Armstrong Vineyard is similar to the 2017, yet maybe with another level of freshness and purity. Lots of cassis and blueberry fruits, pretty violets nuances, full-bodied richness, and polished, ripe tannins all make this a terrific, balanced Cabernet that will benefit from short-term bottle age and drink nicely for 15-20 years.
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Armstrong Vineyard is loaded with earthy and mineral tones, as wines from Diamond Mountain so often are. Blackberry jam, lavender, graphite and spice build in the glass. Ample and resonant in feel, with tremendous power, the Armstrong offers tons of impact, but with a good deal of mystery and intrigue as well.
