Tasting notes
(13.8% alcohol; 22% Chabot, 28% State Lane and 50% St. Helena; from a very early harvest, between September 10 and 12): Good full red with some amber at the rim. Superripe aromas of redcurrant, mocha, menthol, dried spices and chocolate mint. Plush and fine-grained, with sound acidity giving lift to the intense flavors of redcurrant, orange peel and herbs. Slightly high-toned in an inviting way. At once rich and juicy, this vintage finishes with nice length and verve.

Last Tasted 1/94 A seductive, sweet, creamy nose of chocolate, cassis, and herbs is followed by an opulently-styled, soft, supple Cabernet that has quickly reached full maturity. The wine exhibits a judicious touch of toasty new oak. The finish is silky-smooth. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.
