Tasting notes
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Tonella Vineyard comes from a site in Rutherford and has plenty of black fruits as well as notes of new leather, damp herbs, chocolate, and tobacco. Medium to full-bodied, nicely focused, with building tannins and a good streak of freshness, it's another tannic Cabernet that's going to benefit from short-term cellaring and evolve gracefully.

A barrel sample of 78% Cabernet sauvignon and 22% Cabernet Franc, the deep purple-black colored 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Tonella Vineyard features notions of baked berries, stewed plums, tobacco and new leather with fried herbs and tobacco hints. Medium to full-bodied, firm and chewy, it is a tad lacking in the mid palate and has an earthy finish.
