Tasting notes
The exceptional 2014 Shiraz Clos Otto weighs in under 15% alcohol. It's peppery on the nose, then adds cherry-raspberry fruit on the full-bodied, creamy-textured palate. Supple and rich but silky and long, it's a quintessential example of the paradox Barossa Shiraz can deliver, that sexy combination of strength and elegance. Wow.

(all destemmed fruit, with malo and 22 months of aging in 65 percent new French oak) Bright purple. Heady, intensely perfumed aromas of black and blue preserves, Indian spices and vanilla are given a zesty edge by a smoky mineral nuance. Juicy and broad on the palate, displaying deeply concentrated blueberry, cherry liqueur and cola flavors along with hints of candied violet, vanilla and star anise. Strongly echoes the floral and blue fruit notes on a strikingly long, penetrating finish featuring velvety tannins and a hint of mocha.
