Tasting notes
Deep purple-black colored, the 2009 Hickenbotham Syrah displays fragrant notes of crushed blackcurrant, lavender, star anise and bay leaf with an earthy undercurrent of loam, tree bark and underbrush. Full bodied and taut in the mouth, it gives a good backbone of firm, grainy tannins and refreshing acidity to support the concentrated fruit, finishing long and layered. It should be drinking best 2014 to 2023+. Importer: Wine Brokers Unlimited, Hayward, CA
