Score 89/100 · Drink 2014-2022, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Dec 2011

The 2009 La Castellana is an unusual blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 15% Sangiovese. It shows plenty of up-front fruit and textural richness, but the tannins aren't quite as polished as they are in the best wines here.
