Score 93/100 · Drink 2029, Jeb Dunnuck, Feb 2024

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Marston Vineyard (100% varietal) comes from a site on Spring Mountain and was raised in 60% new French oak. It's a medium to full-bodied, plump, round, and fleshy effort that has pretty strawberry and blueberry fruits as well as lifted spring flower, candied violet, and sage-like aromas and flavors. It has classic Spring Mountain complexity, ripe tannins, a juicy, up-front mouthfeel, and outstanding length. It's a little gangly at the moment, but I suspect this will come together nicely with 3-5 years of bottle age.

This is a big wine with blackberry, blueberry and pine needle character that is framed with round, juicy tannins. Full, structured and chewy. This is very Spring Mountain in nature with all the tannins and fruit. It’s a contemporary idea about muscular wines from the AVA. From terraces first planted in the early 1990s. Give it time. Best after 2030.
