Score 91-94/100 · Jeb Dunnuck, Mar 2024
The 2021 Côte Rôtie Fortis comes from three separate lieux-dits, one in the southern part of the appellation and two in the northern part, and it's fermented with 5% Viognier, which I think always contributes to the soft, sexier style of the cuvée. The 2021 is still in barrel, but it's clearly a beautiful wine, with lots of cassis and raspberry fruits, some graphite and darker, mineral nuances, medium body, and fine tannins. It has the fresher, focused style of the vintage yet brings good concentration. It should easily be an outstanding wine.
