Tasting notes
A fun, delicious, ripe, and textured wine, the 2020 Domaine Virginie Thunevin has plenty of darker red and black fruits, some cedar and tobacco nuances, soft tannins, and outstanding length.

The 2020 Domaine Virginie Thunevin is pure Merlot from 40-year-old vines that sees 50% new oak. It has a plush black plum and mulberry scented bouquet. Quite opulent. The palate is medium-bodied, somewhat powerful, a nice savory touch on the entry with a pinch of white pepper and sage that lend character towards the finish. For the price, selling for less than €10 in France, this cannot be beaten.
The 2020 Domaine Virginie Thunevin is just as gorgeous as it was en primeur. Silky and nuanced, this mid-weight Bordeaux is very good. Crushed red berry fruit, blood orange, mint and spice are nicely layered throughout.
The 2020 Domaine Virginie Thunevin is silky, aromatic and wonderfully inviting. Crushed flowers, mint, rose petal, sweet red cherry and leather open with a bit of coaxing. The 2020 is maybe just a touch compact, but it is also quite attractive.
