Tasting notes
Just six miles from the Pacific and planted with a mix of Pommard and 115 clones. 25% new French oak barriques. Bottled in August 2011. (Quite a time ago.) Pale ruby. Sweet and herbal nose. Sweet spicy palate. Some fresh acidity on the end but the oak seems a little heavy handed. Could do with a little more energy. Just a tad rough edged. (JR)

Vivid red. High-pitched aromas of redcurrant, cherry and fresh flowers, with a spicy element building in the glass. Tangy and precise on entry, then deeper in the mid-palate, offering cherry-cola and red berry preserve flavors and a touch of succulent herbs. A vanilla nuance adds sweetness to the nervy finish, which is framed by silky tannins and given bite by a peppery note.
