Spiced red and black fruits, new leather, Asian spices, and some cedar notes all emerge from the 2019 Château Laniote, a medium-bodied, chewy, yet mouth-filling, attractive 2019. Drink it over the coming 8-10 years.

The 2019 Laniote St Emilion has an open-knit, expressive, floral bouquet of wild strawberry and morello cherry fruit infused with rose petals. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fleshy and ripe. Not the most complex Saint-Émilion on the block, but there’s a judicious touch of black pepper on the finish. Fine.

The 2019 Laniote Saint-Émilion has come together nicely in élevage. Crème de cassis, lavender, sweet spice, mocha and espresso give this mid-weight Saint-Émilion lovely flavor complexity and plenty of nuance. Laniote is not terribly complex nor structured, but it is quite attractive, especially for medium-term drinking.
