The 2022 La Fleur de Gay, which I did not taste out of barrel, has commendable lift on the nose, mainly red plum and subtle savoury scents, crushed stone and a touch of wild mint. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. There is a veneer of new oak to be subsumed but there is plenty of fruit to soak that up. Give it a couple of years as the potential is here. Far superior to the La Croix de Gay this year. Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting in London.

Rich, sweet berries and nicely baked plums with a touch of orange zest and hazelnuts. Generous, quite ripe and silky, this has medium body and fine tannins. Lush fruit in a round, flavorful finish. Already appealing. Drink now or hold.
Inky dark in color, the wine pops with its roses, chocolate and plummy aromatic profile. On the palate, the wine is incredibly silky, plush and polished, The dark, deep, fruits are dense, as well as fresh, giving you a hedonistic thrill ride from the mid-palate through to the sensuous finish. The wine was produced from 100% old vine Merlot. Drink from 2026-2048.
Aromas of smoked meats, creamy berries and toasty new oak preface the 2022 La Fleur de Gay, a medium to full-bodied, rich and supple wine with a sweet core of fruit and a somewhat cloying, oak-inflected finish.
