From a site in Alexander Valley, the 2014 Zinfandel 101 Vineyard is dark, racy and voluptuous. The flavors are bold and intense throughout. Cloves, new leather, spice and cedar wrap around the juicy, flamboyant finish. The 2014 is distinctly ripe but also impeccably balanced throughout.

From Alexander Valley, a source that Turley has been using almost since the inception of the winery, comes the 2014 Zinfandel Vineyard 101 (15.4% alcohol). This is always a big-time winner in the Turley portfolio, but sadly, the production is tiny from this 2.5-acre parcel planted in the 1920s. The 2014 is dense ruby/purple and gloriously rich in fruit, with briary blackberry, strawberry, earth, spice and more floral notes. This full-bodied stunner is multidimensional and best drunk over the next 5-7 years.
The 2014 Zinfandel 101 Vineyard opens with exquisite aromatics, much of that from the Carignane that is planted in this Alexander Valley site. Bold red fruit and floral aromatics are the signatures, while silky tannins add to an impression of creaminess. There is plenty to like here.
